The War on Terror

By Hunter Loncar

When the towers fell America held its breath
Congress declared war in the name of revenge
The media praised the soldiers sent to avenge
Men marched into the desert prepared to face death
As bomb dropping jets began the bloodbath
Civilians displaced forced to scavenge
Once great nations destroyed by the challenge
How could anything survive this aftermath

But the world would not stay silent
The people came together in protest
To push back against violence and oppression
Millions amassed to prove this endeavor fraudulent
That oil tycoons invaded to further invest
I praise the activists who voice their expression
